A lifelong Long Islander, Ray\u2019s journey in swimming began as a powerhouse competitive athlete:<\/div>\n<ul class=\"KsbFXc U6u95\" data-complete=\"true\" data-processed=\"true\">\n<li data-hveid=\"CAEIBBAA\" data-complete=\"true\" data-sae=\"\"><span class=\"T286Pc\" data-sfc-cp=\"\" data-complete=\"true\"><strong class=\"Yjhzub\" data-complete=\"true\">Elite Competitor:<\/strong>\u00a0Ray was a\u00a0<strong class=\"Yjhzub\" data-complete=\"true\">14-time All-American<\/strong>\u00a0at the University at Buffalo, where he was twice named MVP and inducted into the\u00a0<strong class=\"Yjhzub\" data-complete=\"true\">Athlete Hall of Fame<\/strong>\u00a0in 2004.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-hveid=\"CAEIBBAB\" data-complete=\"true\" data-sae=\"\"><span class=\"T286Pc\" data-sfc-cp=\"\" data-complete=\"true\"><strong class=\"Yjhzub\" data-complete=\"true\">Jones Beach Lifeguard:<\/strong>\u00a0His commitment to water safety is literal\u2014Ray serves as a lifeguard for the\u00a0<strong class=\"Yjhzub\" data-complete=\"true\">Jones Beach Lifeguard Corps<\/strong>, standing watch over our local shores.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-hveid=\"CAEIBBAC\" data-complete=\"true\" data-sae=\"\"><span class=\"T286Pc\" data-sfc-cp=\"\" data-complete=\"true\"><strong class=\"Yjhzub\" data-complete=\"true\">Decades of Coaching:<\/strong>\u00a0With\u00a0<strong class=\"Yjhzub\" data-complete=\"true\">over 30 years of coaching experience<\/strong>, Ray has guided swimmers from their first bubbles to national-level qualifiers.
